Today brought much needed relief and pleasure for so many people when three ladies were rescued. Amanda Berry called her parents said she was getting a ride home from burger-King and never made it home. Who was going to bring her home?
Amanda Berry and daughter, Gina Dejesus, and Michelle Knight are the victims. They were kidnapped as teenagers ten years ago by a man and three brothers. Names with held to prevent their moment of fame.
The girls had no power but were held captive for ten years in Cleveland, Ohio. Freedom is sweet release. Amanda had walked with a friend and the friend turned back. She kept going and was never seen again.
Why does an incident like this happen?
There are several possible reasons. When I look at my family, I think of how my parents kept our home together. We were not free from problems somehow we solved them.
I felt precious to my family. I think this might be the key. We need to feel accepted.
My parents wrapped us in prayer to God each day.
They taught us loyalty, ethics, respect and courage.
We were warned against talking to strangers.
Importantly, we knew we were loved, needed and an important part of the family.
My parents had time for me. I remember times when my dad had worked all day in the mill and all evening on the farm, and just as we had finished feeding the animals in the dark; I could ask him a question that was bothering me. He took all the time I needed to explain the answer to me. It was like fifteen or twenty minutes then we went inside. He helped me with my homework. We ate dinner that my mom had prepared. Put the dishes up and bathed and laid our clothes out for school tomorrow. Fortunate? No this is the way families should be. No matter what, always have time to train the children.
We need to be good neighbors, not tweeters. People need to know who lives around them. We live in a different world. We need to watch out for each other, especially the children.
We need neighborhood watches with regular meetings to stay informed.
Never walk alone and never, never allow children visit people that you do not know well. Get to know them first. Safety first always pays.

Life Must Go On
At home today I busied me, while waiting for a call you see.
Then checked e-mail just for a note for maybe a line someone wrote.
Perhaps, a rushed schedule lost my name, or someone came by with more fame.
It feels so ‘lone to sit and wait;forgotten, shunned, heartbroken state.
Indeed, I can’t sit here and pine the world’s waiting for me to shine.
I’ll let it go, God holds my hand, Like the brook that flows through the land.
He see’s and cares and won’t forsake while water giggles o’er rocks and lakes.
This day is good the Lord hath made He’ll walk with me, I’ll never trade.

Love from Above
In the from of a Dove
The word came from above
And spoke of His great love
In the form of a dove.
His mercies He will show
And His blessings will flow
Make hungry hearts aglow
And fill with His great Love.
His love spreads to mankind
Accept Him and you’ll find
That peace lingers sublime
And comes with His great Love.
Let His love in you beam
More true than any dream
And flow like crystal streams.
Love in the form of a dove.
His love never, smother
A gift like no other
Tell the world and your mother
Great love from above.

My life is composed of being the first daughter of nine girls and with one older brother. I became a wife and mother of one son and two daughters. I graduated from Anderson University, Clemson University, The Sure Foundation and Newburgh Seminary with a PhD. In the meantime. I was a public school Teacher and a Real Estate Broker.
My children grew up and got married and began their homes. Soon, I had four grand children and one step- grand child. Just as I blinked, ten great-grand children with smiling faces were loving me. My husband passed.
Now, I am retired. I am my boss and I do the things that interest me. I am a writer of books, articles, poems and blogs.
I live in the country with all of Nature’s Sustenance, Comfort, Tantalizing Facets of Magic, Grandeur, Grace and Beauty. Fortunately, I live in an area where devastation seldom occurs.
I am involved in many social activities and constantly learning. I love my Life. It is good. I am extremely blest by God.
I sincerely hope you will be blest my my site and return often.

We went for a ride in the snow today
Across the hills, hollows, cliffs and rifts.
We found a frozen world awesome and serene
and saw a red squirrel who ran so swift.
Huge boulders with long frozen dirty beards
Graced a cold solid creek with all life lost.
The tree tops displayed nests with snow painted roofs
the snow’s so dominant, no sign of frost.
Evergreens adorned with small snow balls.
A gorgeous site the town folk were not aware.
Springs beauty, summer’s fun and falls brisk colors
Can hardly compare and God placed it there.
